NOTE: Pre-registration will close at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, June 18, 2008. We apologize for the early cutoff of pre-registration, but it is necessary due to the distance between the Utah Summer Games registration office in Cedar City and the venue location in Salt Lake City.

How to Register: Register online by Wednesday, June 18, 2008, by 5:00 PM. If you are mailing in your registration form, it must be RECEIVED BY THE UTAH SUMMER GAMES by Wednesday, June 18, 2008, to: Utah Summer Games Registration, 351 West University Blvd., Cedar City, UT 84720. Use Team Registration Form.
Day-of Tournament Registration : Registration will be accepted on the day of competition, Saturday, June 21, 2008 at the Cottonwood Complex no later than 8:30 AM. All players attempting to register AFTER 8:30 AM on Saturday will be charged a late fee of $5.00 per player, and there is no guarantee that space will be available in the tournament for players attempting to register after 8:30 AM on Saturday, June 21, 2008.
Refund Policy: Due to competition scheduling difficulties and USG planning and supplies requirements there are no refunds. If an event cannot be held due to inclement weather a voucher may be issued to be used for another sport during the 2008 or the same sport during the 2009 Utah Summer Games. Requests must be in writing by email to USG@suu.edu.
Confirmation: Internet Registrations will immediately receive a confirmation e-mail. Participants who mail or hand-deliver registrations can check at registration area on the day of the event. Remember, pre-registration ends at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, June 18, 2008.
Check-In: Athletes competing in the 2008 Utah Summer Games Outdoor Volleyball should check in at the registration table at Big Cottonwood Regional Park (a.k.a. Cottonwood Complex), 440 S 1300 E, Salt Lake City, UT before 8:30 AM on the day of the event. Each athlete will receive a welcome packet containing the official Utah Summer Games athlete shirt, valuable coupons and other assorted goodies. Outdoor Volleyball will open for check-in and day-of registration at 7:30 AM. NOTE: ALL teams - including teams with complimentary entries for setting up nets, etc., must have waivers signed by all team members if over 18 or by parents or guardians if under 18. NO EXCEPTIONS.
2008 Outdoor Volleyball Divisions:
Note: AA DIVISION WILL PLAY ON SAND COURTS. ALL OTHER DIVISIONS WILL PLAY ON GRASS COURTS.
AA: Highly skilled players - collegiate or pro equivalent.
A: Highly competitive advanced players with well-developed skills and game strategy.
B/Rec: Recreational or intermediate players with good skills and consistency.
Novice: Beginning outdoor player and those learning the game and improving.
Jr's 14/16/18: Age as of day of competition.
Masters: +35: Any skill level, ready to have fun. Note: No player under age 35 will be allowed to participate in this division. No Exceptions. Age as of day of competition will govern.
Format: Pool play followed by a single-elimination tournament for the top teams in each pool. Number of teams to playoff bracket will be determined on the day of the event by the event coordinator depending on number of teams participating and number of pools per division.
Rules: Utah Outdoor Volleyball Association (UOVA) outdoor volleyball rules will govern this event, including the UOVA Code of Conduct. NOTE: UOVA rules are similar to, but not exactly the same as, FIVB, USA Volleyball, or any other published rules. Teams are restricted to two players for doubles and four players for Coed 4's. Minimum four players and minimum two females on the court at all times for Coed 4's. No substitutions during the day for injury or any other reason. Entry forms and fees must be submitted with team roster to be considered a valid registration. Teams must participate as referees for assigned matches during the event. Failure to fulfill a referee assignment will result in forfeiture of remaining games. The Utah Summer Games reserves the right to combine divisions at this event.
