Individual(Sprint or Olympic distances): $60
Relay(2-3-person teams; sprint-distance only): $100
On-site registration at Packet Pick-up will be available, but there will be an additional $20.00 fee. There will be NO race
day registration allowed.
How to Register: Register online. If you are mailing in your registration form, send it to Utah Summer Games Registration, 351 West University Blvd., Cedar City , UT 84720.
Registration Deadline: Registration forms must be received at the USG office NO LATER than Tuesday, June 15th for the triathlon. Any registration forms/fees received after this date will be returned to the sender.

Sand Hollow Reservoir, Utah State Division of Parks and Recreation
From I-15 northbound and southbound: Take Exit 16 (Hurricane Exit, State Route 9) – follow this road exactly 4 miles and then turn right at the
Sand Hollow Reservoir sign and follow the road to the park entrance.
Sanctioning:
The USG Tri is an officially sanctioned race by USA Triathlon http://www.usatriathlon.org/ (USAT).
USAT Members will need to bring proof of membership and picture ID at packet pick-up. If you cannot furnish your USAT license, you will need to buy
the one day license at packet pick-up for $10.00. Non-USAT members will be required to purchase a $10.00 one-day membership either online or at
packet pick-up.

Start Time: Saturday, June 19th at 7:00 AM for the long course and & 7:30 AM for the short course.
Additional Sport Information
- Utah residents’ times will be included in the overall results, as well as the Utah-only results; Out-of-state residents are allowed to participate in the USG Triathlon. They will be included in the overall results but not in the Utah-only results. There will be both Utah-only awards in addition to the standard, Overall awards.
- The Olympic racers will go first, with wave starts. You will start your time together with everyone in your wave; your wave will be determined by your race distance and age.
- Sand Hollow State Park policy dictates that all visitors on the Friday before the event will need to pay the $10 entry fee per car, including those who are previewing the course. Note that the $10 entrance fee to Sand Hollow State Park is NOT included in the athlete registration fee.
Divisions: Age group determined by age as of December 31, 2009.
Awards: USG Medals will be awarded to the Top 3 Overall and Top 3 Utah residents in each age group. Separate awards will be given to out-of-state participants.
Format:
- Sprint Triathlon Course 750m Swim, 14mi Bike and 5k Run
- Olympic Triathlon Course 1500m Swim, 25mi Bike and 10k run
Short Swim: 750 meter rectangular-shaped, counter-clockwise course at Sand Hollow Reservoir. Olympic Course 1500 meters.
- Wave Starts (Olympic: 7:00 AM, Sprint 7:30 AM)
- No fins, paddles, or propulsive device of any kind will be allowed.
- Wetsuits are recommended but not required; Water temperature should be in the low– to mid-70’s. Goggles or face masks may be worn.
Bike:
- Absolutely no drafting another bike or any other vehicle is allowed. This is an individual endurance event. A space of at least 2-bike lengths must be left between competitors.
- ANSI-approved hard shell helmets are required. No helmet, no race, period.
- No individual support allowed.
- Each participant must be individually responsible for repair and maintenance of his or her own bike during the cycling portion of the triathlon.
- Cyclists are responsible for obeying all traffic laws and for any infractions.
- Two water bottles on your bike are recommended.
Run:
- This run will be on the pavement.
- There will be water stations every mile throughout the run course.
Timing:
- Chip timing will be provided by Milliseconds.com. 5 split times will be provided.
Eligibility: The Utah Summer Games and State Games of the West is open to all State Games athletes from the following States: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. Athletes from these states are eligible by participating in their local State Games in 2008 regardless of their results or placement in one of the sports, or if a resident of the State of Utah or a resident of a neighboring state (Idaho, Nevada, or Wyoming) that does not currently hold an officially recognized State Games event, for at least 30 days prior to the first day of the competition they wish to enter. In addition, students who are enrolled in a Utah college or university are eligible, as are U.S. military personnel and their family members who are stationed in Utah. The State Games of the West have been organized in accordance with NCAA guidelines with some exceptions. Athletes who have eligibility questions should check with their school athletic administrator or coach. Any athlete with scholastic or collegiate eligibility remaining must comply with rules governing his or her scholastic or collegiate eligibility.
Confirmation: Internet Registrations will immediately receive a confirmation e-mail. Mailed or delivered registrations can check at registration area before event.
Refund Policy: NO REFUNDS will be given for medical withdrawals. If an event cannot be held due to inclement weather a voucher code may be issued to be used for another sport during the 2010 event or the same sport during the 2011 Utah Summer Games. Exceptions will be made only for the following: entries received after entry deadline; sports or competitions reaching maximum registration capacity; entries received after the maximum number of teams are bracketed or if there are not enough teams or individuals to form a division.
