The SUU Sorenson PE Building is open June 6-7 from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, June 9-10 from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, June 12 from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and daily beginning June 13, from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM every day except Sunday. All teams must have waivers signed by all team members if over 18 or by parents or guardians if under 18. No exceptions.

Format and Rules: There will be men's and women's categories as follows: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. A Beginner is defined as someone climbing in the 5.0 to 5.9 range and or bouldering in the V to V2 range. Intermediate is defined as someone climbing in the 5.10a to 5.11d range and/or bouldering in the V3 to V5 range. Advanced is defined as someone climbing in the 5.12a range and up and/or bouldering in the V5 range and up.

All climbers will be asked to enter in their appropriate category. The judges reserve the right to move a climber into another category if deemed appropriate according to experience, consensus, and only with a unanimous vote. All climbing will be roped and all equipment will be provided. However, climbers may use their own shoes if they desire.

Points will be awarded according to the difficulty of the specific climb. The points are awarded if the climber uses only the specific hand and foot holds for that particular climb, does not fall, does not rest on the rope, and holds on the final hold for a minimum of two seconds. The climber will not be timed unless it is necessary because of a large number of participants. This will be determined before the competition commences. Participants are free to try any climb, but their final score will consist only of the four highest scoring climbs that they finish. Example: Climb 1 = 10 points, Climb 2 = 22 points, Climb 3 = 17 points, Climb 4 = 11 points, Climb 5 = 28 points, Climb 6 = 21 points. The climber would add the four highest scores for his/her total; e.g. Climbs 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 for a total score of 99 points.

The judges reserve the right to change the format and/or rules before the competition if deemed necessary to maintain fairness and equality to whatever degree possible, and if unforeseen circumstances require. Please contact the coordinator with any questions or for clarifications.

Age:  Must be at least 6 years old by day of competition.

Medals: Gold, Silver, and Bronze for each of the three categories in the men's and women's divisions.
