Century Ride Description
Come and join us on this fun ride around the Cedar City area as we celebrate the opening of the 23rd Utah Summer Games. Everyone will enjoy this course; especially when you have the chance to soar along the route under the watchful gaze of eagles, falcons and hawks overhead. You will follow the footsteps of the early Spanish explorers and the trails of the wagon trains of yesteryear. We will ride through the beautiful and scenic SUU campus and then head south to the towns of Hamilton Fort, Kanarraville and New Harmony before heading north.
The Parowan Gap is a natural cleft in the hills that has been a gateway to man and wildlife for centuries. At our lunch site you will have the opportunity to see hundreds of Native American petroglyph's and listen to Martin Tyner; one of the foremost experts on the lore of the area and an internationally known raptor expert. The Parowan Gap area is a natural nesting site for many raptors. Martin has over 40 years experience with birds of prey and will have several at hand for you to observe. The ride will conclude by circling through the towns of Parowan, Summit, and Enoch before returning to the SUU campus.
This is a non-competitive event open to riders of all ages.
