FOUR MORE UTAH SUMMER GAMES RECORDS FALL IN RIFLE SHOOTING COMPETITION FRIDAY

CEDAR CITY- Salt Lake City's Scott Engen broke his fourth USG record in three days and picked up three more gold medals in day two of the 2003 Utah Summer Games Rifle Shooting competition held Friday at the Hobble Creek Range in Springville.

Engen, who now owns five USG records so far, broke the smallbore rifle "3" position mark with an event-winning score of 506-5x and the Open air rifle record with a 519-5c. His efforts over five days of competition in rifle and pistol events has netted him 14 gold medals and one silver.

Centerville's Bud Benard broke the Masters' air rifle record with a score of 442-2c, while Spanish Fork's Joey Quist set a new mark in the Sub-Junior air rifle division with a 264.

TWO UTAH SUMMER GAMES RECORDS FALL IN RIFLE SHOOTING COMPETITION

CEDAR CITY- Salt Lake City's Scott Engen continued his hot shooting by breaking two more Utah Summer Games records in the 2003 USG Rifle Shooting competition held Thursday at the Hobble Creek Range in Springville.

Engen, who broke a USG pistol record last week, set new marks in the smallbore rifle prone (English match) open division with a score of 573-18x and in the .22-caliber rimfire sporter rifle open division with a 557-10x. His efforts also netted him two more gold medals to go along with nine gold and one silver medal he won last week in the pistol competition.

ONE MORE USG RECORDS FALLS IN USG SHOOTING COMPETITION

CEDAR CITY- One more Utah Summer Games record fell on the final day of the 2003 USG Pistol Shooting competition held in Springville, bringing the total to three records that were re-written over the three-day event. Salt Lake City's Ronald Brumitt recorded his second record-breaking performance of the competition with a gold-medal winning score of 274 in the National Match Center Fire masters division.

TWO USG RECORDS FALL IN USG SHOOTING COMPETITION

CEDAR CITY- Two Utah Summer Games records fell during the first two days of the 2003 USG Shooting competition in Springville. Salt Lake City's Scott Engen set a new standard in the ISU Center Fire Standard Pistol open division with a score of 269 and just missed tying his own Open Air Pistol mark by one point with a gold-medal winning score of 272. For the competition, Engen has collected five gold medals and one silver medal. Meanwhile, Salt Lake's Ronald Brumitt broke the Masters Air Pistol division with a score 261 and has won three gold medals, one silver and one bronze overall.
