Tuesday, June 26, 2007
Joe Wilson of North Ogden not only set a Utah Summer Games record for his blazingly fast race on June 15, 2007, he also earned himself a spot in the St. George Marathon. As part of the 31/31 program, the Utah Summer Games had a gauranteed spot to the race that has been closed for several weeks now.
"It's great for us to able to provide this entry to Joe," said Kyle M Case, Utah Summer Games Director. "The fact that he broke a record while earning it is like icing on the cake."
As a way to celebrate 31 years of providing an incredible race through the beautifully rugged terrain of St. George, Utah, the St. George Marathon offered 31 guaranteed entries into the popular race to several smaller races around the state.
