Guaranteed Spot in St. George Marathon Up For Grabs

The Utah Summer Games has once again partnered with the St. George Marathon, offering one guaranteed spot in the 2007 endurance event. In 2006, to celebrate 30 YEARS RUNNING, the St. George Marathon gave 30 GUARANTEED ENTRANCES to the St. George Marathon. This effort received astounding participation throughout the state. The Utah Summer Games was a part of that excitement.
This year, the Marathon has decided to pursue the program again, offering 31 races, 31 GUARANTEED Spots. Once again, the Utah Summer Games is part of the action.
The Utah Summer Games will award one guaranteed entry to the St. George Marathon for the fastest time at the annual Utah Summer Games 10K Race, being held on June 15, 2007. Racers meet at the Cedar City Main Street Park (200 N. Main), no later than 6:30 AM. Transportation to the race start is provided by the Utah Summer Games and Iron County School District. The course begins in Cedar Canyon east of Cedar City and finishes back at the Cedar City Main Street Park.

The St. George Marathon is considered one of the top 20 marathons in the country and due to increased popularity is forced to turn away 2,000+ runners from its lottery each year.
The Utah Summer Games is Utah's oldest Olympic-style sports festival and features over 50 different sports including Indoor Volleyball, Tennis and Cowboy Action Shooting.
