Case To Direct Summer Games, Then Assume Leadership of Huntsman World Senior Games

St. George, UT - The Huntsman World Senior Games announced Tuesday the appointment of Kyle Case as Chief Executive Officer. Case will replace Kathie Thayne, who is retiring at the end of this year's Games in October. Thayne has directed the Games since 1995. During her twelve-year tenure, the Games have become the largest annual senior event of its type in the World.
Case is currently the Director of the Utah Summer Games and will maintain his current position through this year's Summer Games, which end on June 23rd.
In making the announcement, the Huntsman Games emphasized that Case will continue with the Summer Games through their Games in June. He will begin work at the Huntsman Games August 1st and will assume full responsibilities following Thayne's retirement in October. Michael Benson, SUU President added, "Kyle will do a great job directing this year's Summer Games and that will give us time to find an outstanding replacement."
"Kyle Case's leadership of the Utah Summer Games has been outstanding," stated John Morgan, Founder and President of the Senior Games. "So many of the things we do, the Summer Games does as well. That makes Kyle so well equipped for this position."
Case leaves a legacy at the Summer Games that bodes well for his successor. "The bright spot is that Kyle has made such great enhancements to the program that he leaves the Games in superb shape. We have an incredibly strong and growing Games – positioned to be the premier State Games in the country," added Gregory Stauffer, SUU Chief of Staff.
Case states emotionally, "It was not an easy decision for me! I’m so lucky to have had this opportunity. The community, volunteers, sponsors, coaches and athletes and especially my team have really made a difference."
Case obtained his Bachelor and Master degrees from Southern Utah University. He and his wife, Mindy have a daughter, McKinley (10), and a son, Christian (8).
The Huntsman World Senior Games is the largest Senior Games of it's kind in the world and is held each October in St. George, Utah.
The Utah Summer Games is the state's oldest Olympic-style sports festival and takes place in Cedar City, Utah, every June, offering over 50 sporting events including Gymnastics, Softball and Bass Fishing.
