Utah Summer Games to be Part of Mountain West Extreme Paintball League

Wild West Promotions (WWP), LLC, a The Paintball Shop (TPS) INC, company is pleased to announce the purchase of the Mountain West Extreme Paintball League (MWXPL). This purchase means the best venue for paintball players in the mountain west just got better.
The MWXPL, founded 3 years ago has become the best venue for competitive paintball play in Utah and the surrounding states. The tournament series has grown from a few events per year to the 2006 season which will have 5 events including the 2006 paintball event in the Utah Summer Games. Munsee will join the new MWXPL staff as a league consultant.
“There is no better tournament series in the region” Munsee said, “The MWXPL gives players the opportunity to put their skills to the test against the best teams the region has to offer. Last year our event brought some of the best players and teams around.
For the 2006 season the MWXPL will follow the rules of the National Professional Paintball League (NPPL). The NPPL is the world leader in paintball competitions. “The MWXPL is a great training ground for teams who want to someday compete at a national level”, said James West, Managing partner of Wild West Promotions and head MWXPL referee, “The MWXPL gives teams a real taste of tournament paintball.”
Tournament paintball or speedball is played on a 150x200 foot field made up of inflatable or fixed obstacles or bunkers. Teams composed of seven members attempt to capture the flag at the opposite end of the field in under seven minutes. Points are rewarded for the elimination of an opponent by marking them with a paintball and for capturing and hanging the flag.
The Paintball Shop, INC is the parent company of Aardvark Paintball, southern Utah’s leading paintball retailer. With two Southern Utah locations, Aardvark Paintball provides full support for all aspects the game. Jasen Chandler President of TPS said, “We play this game. Everyone who has anything to do with TPS plays paintball and has for some time. Our goal is to provide the best service, best pricing and best experience for anyone who is curious about paintball.” Aardvark Paintball hosts weekly games in both Cedar City and St. George. They are also well known for generous donations of time and merchandise to the local community.
About the purchase of the MWXPL Chandler said, “The MWXPL is the greatest thing to happen to tournament paintball in this region. The support we can provide for the MWXPL will make it even better. It just made sense to us to take advantage of this opportunity. Craig Munsee is staying on board, James West has event experience on the national level and we are dedicated to listening to our teams and making the league the best it can be.” Chandler is confident that players will not find a better tournament experience especially for the cost.
The MWXPL season opener will be held on February 18th and 19th 2006 at the Bluff Street Park in Sunny St. George Utah. With an average minimum of 30 teams attending past events the competition is sure to be fierce as players compete for huge prize packages.
