First Weekend Opens With Rain

CEDAR CITY - Day two of the 20th-Anniversary Utah Summer Games continued Saturday despite heavy rain in the Cedar City and Iron County areas, which led to the cancellation of one event and the postponement of another.
Singles horseshoes, which was to have been held at the Cedar Horseshoe Park, was washed out and will not be made up, while the skateboarding competition scheduled for 9:00 a.m., at the Exit 59 Skatepark has been rescheduled for next Saturday, Juen 18, at 9:00 a.m.
However, competition in paintball, bass fishing, 3x3 soccer, archery, mountain biking, karate and cowboy action shooting went on as scheduled. Results from those events will be posted and disseminated later Saturday and Monday.Labels: History
