BOB TATE
Bob Tate was born in Park City, Utah, and raised in Salt Lake City. He graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Parks and Recreation Administration, and earned a Master's degree from Brigham Young University.
While working in the Logan, Utah Parks and Recreation department, Tate began his affiliation with the Utah Summer Games as the Northern Region director, and has been a part of the growth and change of the USG for 24 years.
Tate was hired as the Cedar City director of Parks and Recreation (now Cedar City Leisure Services) in 1994, and also assumed the role of Sports Director of the Summer Games at the same time. His influence is felt by every athlete in every Utah Summer Games event.
ON THE HONOR: "Being inducted on the 25th anniversary of the Games was a very humbling award … it makes me even more excited for year 2011!'
UPDATE: Tate and his wife, MaryAnn, are the parents of six children and nine grandchildren. With the near-completion of the new Cedar City Aquatic Center and baseball complex, Tate will take on the additional role as director of that facility. (8/16/10)
