Evan Excell

Evan Excell

Evan Excell spent 14 years as the Executive Director of the Utah High School Athletic Association. Excell retired in 2008 as the face of Utah high school athletics. His coaching and administrative duties spanned 42 years and four schools.

During his tenure, Excell was a fixture at prep championship events, often  presenting the title trophies and always extending a hand of congratulations to the Academic All-Staters as well. He was a champion of fair play and worked to establish boundary regulations to prevent student transfers based on athletics alone.

Excell is nationally recognized for his wisdom and foresight, as evinced by his induction to the UHSAA Circle of Fame, class of 2009, as well as the National Interscholastic Administrators Association Hall of Fame inaugural class of 2009.
