Guidelines for competitors:
This year the Utah Summer Games celebrates its 25th year of providing Utah residents with a fun and challenging competitive arena for athletes of all ages
and skill levels.

Rules pertaining to each sport can be found under that specific sport. Please read all rules carefully.

Online registration is available through each individual sport. To assure you of accuracy and immediate registration
confirmation, we encourage you to register online. Downloadable forms are available in PDF format for

For most sports, you can save money by registering before June 1, 2010. All registration fees are included in the sport charge.
Confirmation: Internet Registrations will immediately receive a confirmation e-mail. Mailed or delivered registrations can check at registration area before event.
Eligibility: The Utah Summer Games and State Games of the West is open to all State Games athletes from the following States: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. Athletes from these states are eligible by participating in their local State Games in 2008 regardless of their results or placement in one of the sports, or if a resident of the State of Utah or a resident of a neighboring state (Idaho, Nevada, or Wyoming) that does not currently hold an officially recognized State Games event, for at least 30 days prior to the first day of the competition they wish to enter. In addition, students who are enrolled in a Utah college or university are eligible, as are U.S. military personnel and their family members who are stationed in Utah. The State Games of the West have been organized in accordance with NCAA guidelines with some exceptions. Athletes who have eligibility questions should check with their school athletic administrator or coach. Any athlete with scholastic or collegiate eligibility remaining must comply with rules governing his or her scholastic or collegiate eligibility.
Refund Policy: NO REFUNDS will be given including for medical withdrawals. If an event cannot be held due to inclement weather a voucher code may be issued to be used for another sport during the 2010 event or the same sport during the 2011 Utah Summer Games. Exceptions will be made only for the following: entries received after entry deadline; sports or competitions reaching maximum registration capacity; entries received after the maximum number of teams are bracketed or if there are not enough teams or individuals to form a division. Requests must be in writing by email to hutcheson@suu.edu.
Check-In: Athletes need to check in at the SUU Sorenson PE Building, 560 W University Blvd., Cedar City. Each athlete will receive a welcome packet containing the official Utah Summer Games Athlete shirt, valuable coupons and other assorted goodies. Registration will be open on the following days:

All teams must have waivers signed by each team members if they are 18 or older, and by parents/guardians if they are under 18. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Soccer Check-in:
All teams must check in on Tuesday, June 8, between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM, or Wednesday, June 9, between noon and 7:00 PM
at the SUU Sorenson PE Building, 400 West University Blvd., Cedar City. This will be the only opportunity for check in. Teams will not be
allowed to participate without first checking the team in. No additions to team rosters after final check-in are allowed. U-11 through U-19
teams are limited to a roster of 18 players and three coaches. U-10 teams are limited to a roster of 14 players and three coaches. Coaches,
or an authorized adult team representative, MUST bring the following for check in:
- Completed Team Waiver with every coach and player listed. The form must include each player’s full name and birth date and the waiver form must be signed by the parent of each player who is younger than 18 years of age and by each player who is 18 years of age or older.
- Individual player passes for EVERY player and Coach listed on the roster. (see Coach and Player Pass section)
- Teams are encouraged to bring a photo copy of each player’s birth certificate in case questions arise regarding eligibility. As noted above, a copy of the birth certificate or the person’s driver license must be presented in order to obtain a Utah Summer Games ID card.
Lodging:
We encourage you to support our local sponsoring lodging establishments. Please be sure to be courteous and patient with the
staff and feel free to express appreciation for their support of the Utah Summer Games.
Dining:
You'll find a wide variety of dining establishments among our dining sponsors. Again, please be courteous, tip generously and
feel free to thank them for their valuable support of the Utah Summer Games.
Athlete Social:
Wear your official Utah Summer Games T-Shirt, bring your appetite and warm up your Karaoke singing voice. Be a part of the athlete social on
June 10, 2010, located on the corner of 800 W and 200 S, by the Centrum on the campus of Southern Utah University. The Athlete Social runs from 5:00
PM to 8:00 PM. Pizza, drinks and ice cream will be served, athletes eat free and there is a small charge for accompanying parents. Right after
the social, athletes will line up to be a part of the March of Athletes during Opening Ceremonies.
Opening Ceremonies:
Join us on June 10, 2010 for the spectacular Opening Ceremonies. Witness the awe inspiring March of Athletes,
excellent entertainment and of course the best fireworks show in Utah. Athletes wearing their official 2010 Athlete T-Shirt and marching in the
Parade of Athletes will receive free admission to Opening Ceremonies. Tickets for others are available by calling the SUU Ticket Office at
(435)586-7872.
Closing Ceremonies:
The Wendy Wood Memorial Rodeo acts as the Utah Summer Games Closing Ceremonies. This Pro-Am Rodeo has been voted one of the best rodeos on the
circuit by the cowboys and cowgirls who participate. Athletes wearing their official 2009 Athlete T-Shirt and marching in the Parade of
Athletes on Friday June 19, 2009 will receive free admission to Closing Ceremonies. Tickets for others are available by calling the Utah Summer
Games Office, (435)865-8421. The rodeo is on Friday and Saturday June 19 & 20, 2009, beginning at 7:30 PM each night.
Other Activities:
With unparalleled natural beauty and home town charm, Cedar City is not at a loss for things to
do in between events. With music and entertainment going on most nights, National Parks within easy driving distance and parks and trails for everyone
to enjoy, there's always something to do.
